A photograph is an instrument of love and revelation that must see beneath the surfaces and record the qualities of nature and humanity which live in all things. Ansel Adams

Someone Take "Perfection" Out of the Dictionary, Please

You've got to be thin to be beautiful. Plastic surgery and liposuction: get your perfect body today. Lose ten pounds in one week, secret diet facts inside! Weight loss diets, don't eat anything until you feel you might pass out...
Today's society has gotten ridiculous on how much emphasis is put on being thin. Girls are feeling more and more pressure to have the "perfect body" even though such a thing cannot exist. Starving oneself, throwing up, eating only minimal amounts of food to stay functional.... none of these are healthy habits, nor ways that should be used to lose weight. Magazines, TV shows, movies, basically our entire culture is telling girls that they have to look a certain way in order to be beautiful, that they must be  certain weight, height, skin color even. It's become utterly  disgusting.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Don't ever let anyone tell you that you aren't pretty enough, or that you aren't thin enough. That is their opinion, not yours. Break the mold, crush the stereotype, and be a voice for those who don't think they can be beautiful.

This project is for a 3-D class I currently am taking. The assignment was body parts. I chose the female torso and bust area, and decided to cast it fully in chocolate. She is holding herself, self-conscious about how she looks. It's more like she's trying to push her skin in and make herself thinner rather than caressing herself. I used chocolate to really emphasize how ridiculous the amount of pressure being put on females is in our culture today.
